This is a caribou skin mask made from dehaired caribou hide. It has the addition of red fox and polar bear fur. The face has acrylic accents with wax coloring . The back is clear coated with a water-based sealer. The ears are mixed media. The yarn tassel has a tuft of fox fur. Made by Inuit artist Aakatchaq Schaeffer of Kotzebue, Ak.
