These are unique thigh high Sealskin mukluks made by Alaskan Native Inuit artist Darlene Snyder of Kotzebue, AK. The upper part is seal skin with the fur on it, the bottom part has the seal skin fur on the inside; and the white part is called nalauq (bleached seal skin). The bottom soles have the seal skin fur on the outside.
These are women size 8-8.5 or men size 6.5. Measures approximately 27" high.
One of the mukluks has two small holes at the back of the thigh area. There is also two previous repairs where seal skin was added to patch the area (pictured).
